abusing our soft side for dub edgar 9000 gave us these compelling tracks.>play me minus three (patience vs. epiphany mix)< û what starts like a nicely arranged minimal tune bubbles and billows after a short pause up to a big ride on the acid-dub-ghost-train. at the latest when the decently deployed and gated french horn pad sets in on the second half you are completely lost. not for quick peep û but beware: danger of addiction of endless playing is definitely given.meanwhile the title >hook & bait< of the b-side rather reads like the basic principle of fishing. it really sounds like the classic principle of ambient à well almost, since in this case this ambient track is drifting along itself, underlined with a straight driving and floating rhythm fed by an earthly bassline.petri heil! 1986, chicago. jody fingers finch is 18, not yet able to gain access to all of the spaces in which his first production will soon get airplay. he saves up the cash himself and records it in the basement of staple singers member bob murphy, who prefers the moniker bm recording studio. one 8-track reel-to-reel machine, one afternoon, $200 cash. a handful of cuts are recorded, including a stripped-raw, bare-bones track jody calls jack your big booty, an undercover piéce de résistance about his friends mothers backside. another is dubbed whistle worm, a meandering, experimental ride, riddled with strange noises and staccato high hats. bob murphy is likely confused. the tracks are brutally raw, lo-fi at best

tokyo based synth outfit trans of life shows some true talent on this double sided single. their productions combine some amazing sounds as wholesome 4/4 house, deep electronic overtones, chill jazz, and latin melodies. foi voce (tol vocal) has lovely portuguese verses & melodies sung by yukiko koga. this is a full on vocal mix chill enough for the lounge and fancy enough for a 5 star dining hall. their dubs go a bit deeper and darker and are a lot more dance floor effective. the vocals turn to echoes and quasi chanting and a myriad of sounds flow in and out of this tune. the masterful original delight earth, a body & soul party favorite, show just how talented these guys are. full of trumpet solos and latin conga rhythms with plucked stringed guitars make for a sensational ride. back to the club on their dub... great package!!

fimo is the project of three guys from the music city of mannheim. each of them has a variety of musical roots, which in combination developed to an ambitious and productive trio. the influences are ranging from deep house enriched with jazzy and dubby elements to minimal groovy tunes. these guys have been musically active in the rhein/neckar region for many years. with the pollenflug ep they present their first release and allow for a small view on their interpretation of electronic music. besides djing and studio work, fimo are currently working on their live performance. the ep already got huge support from loco dice, luciano, ray okpara, johnny d, nekes, federico molinari, pablo bolivar, lars behrenroth!

the pump ep is a typically genre-bending mixture of pumping, groovy house tracks, exploring the many sides of this highly regardedproducers fruitful repertoire. lead track the pump is a vivacious number that takes a clean, modern house aesthetic as a base and later infuses it with a dirtier, earlier morning vibe, with phoniques playful use of the resplendent chord stabs. its a slow burner indeed, and yet another example of his effortless arrangement talents. fancying a spot of fresh air and a trip into the audio countryside, bike ride is an even more playful journey into the kooky electronic world of phoniques studio outings. solid drums and warm sub bass provide the energy for all manner of pops and tweaks to unfold. its another deeper track but be warned it still has the power to lift a crowd up onto its tip-toes. going down more of a techno route, tooltime completes the package and breaks out the big guns for some serious heads down dancefloor ignition. urgent and tight late night action, not for the faint of heart, the tracks title is too modest - it should really read ‚ peak time

you ve heard everyone, from timmy regisford to danny krivit, playing this remix of jazz funk legend roy ayers all summer and now its finally available. the ingredients are the usual ones: organ ride, convincing synths and solid bassline.
